Fundraising

Each year, every Myer store nominates a local charity that is in line with Myer and the Myer Community Fund’s community focus of ‘supporting and empowering women, strengthening families’, with a strong focus on supporting women and children impacted by family violence.

Throughout the year Myer store team members raise funds for their store’s nominated local charity, with over $220K raised in FY17.

At a national level, funds are raised through the sale of specific Icon Products and special events. Icon Products include the Spirit of Christmas CD which for over 20 years, has not only showcased the very best of Australian musical talent, but has generated more than $7.5 $8.1 million for The Salvation Army.

National fundraising events include the Point of Sale Round Up Campaign where customers can elect to ‘round up' their Myer purchase to the nearest dollar and donate the difference, and the annual Precious Metal Ball, both which raise vital funds for our national and local store charity partners. Since 2004, the Precious Metal Ball has raised over $5 $7 million, and included:

  • A two year partnership with White Ribbon Australia raised over $500,000 for their Breaking the Silence Schools Program in Australian schools.
